Do you feel overwhelmed by life? Are you juggling a million and one things all at once? Do you just want to know a bit more about Mindfulness? If so, then this book is definitely for you! It’s all about living in the moment while in a world that seems hell bent on flooding us with information overload, work more, sleep less, spin yet more plates; sound familiar? It was for me too until I trained to be a Mindfulness Coach at http://annettebrownhypnotherapy.co.uk/ (an amazing teacher btw) and I followed it up with this book and several others. Full Catastrophe Living is by far the best one I’ve come across. The Author Jon Kabat-Zinn founded the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Centre for Mindfulness in Medicine, at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, since then literally hundreds of thousands of people from all backgrounds have taken the 8 week programme. The Book It’s an amazing guide for any beginner to learn how to practice a form of meditation for a whole mind and body overhaul! It is also a very deep reminder that yesterday is gone and no matter what we do, we cannot change it, and tomorrow may never come! It teaches that the time is now and we are here, and how very precious the moment truly is. Paying attention to your body and your mind is so important. If you think of all the amazing things that your body does without even thinking about it. Your heart beats and pumps blood around your body, your lungs inflate and deflate in order for you to breathe, your stomach digests your food, all of these things we take for granted, yet if they stopped doing their job we would literally stop being! It isn’t just your body either, you become more aware, sights, sounds, feelings, all the wonderful things we noticed before we could walk and talk. Before we started naming things and filling our heads up with for the majority useless information. Much of the book is about the patients that have completed the 8 week course at the Stress Clinic, and the experiences which they share candidly. Not one of them had a negative, everyone of them says that it has changed their life for the better, so it's definitely worth a go. Is it easy? ![]() Is anything? It’s like anything else if you are prepared to put the work in, and put yourself first above all else, let’s face it no one else is going to do it for you. There is a sentence in the book; “ask someone else to eat for you, you will starve, not them!” If you have read the book, I’d love to hear your thoughts and if not, and you would like to, follow the link below and let me know how you get on. https://amzn.to/2NwgzSx
